Hattha Kaksekar Donates a School Building and Toilets to Steng Touch Primary School in Pursat Province
Pursat – August 12, 2020: Hattha Kaksekar Limited (HKL) is recognized as one of the leading microfinance institutions with more than 26-year experience in Cambodia, has organized the Patham Sela (groundbreaking) Ceremony of starting the construction of the school and toilet buildings for the Steng Touch Primary School in Pursat province. The ceremony was attended by the senior management of HKL, school principal, and teachers of Steng Touch Primary School.
Even during the transition of COVID-19 pandemic and it also impacts Cambodia though, HKL still commits and continues its mission of Corporate Social Responsible (CSR) activities to support the students and teachers when there are insufficient classrooms and toilets. The School Principal of Steng Touch Primary School has said that recently, Steng Touch Primary School has 210 students and 8 teachers however, the school has only 2 buildings which were made from wood while one building is very old that affects the students’ education. In the meantime, she is very excited and happy that HKL has donated a new building with 3 classrooms and 3 toilets for the school. The school building is expected to be finished around December 2020 and she would like to thank all the senior management and employees of HKL for joining the ceremony.
Oknha Hout leng Tong, President & CEO of HKL was very happy that employees of HKL as well as himself have actively been involved to support society particularly, help the young students by providing the school building that can improve their education. He said, “building a school is a very precious act of kindness because it provides a long-term and positive impact on every generation of young children to get an equal opportunity for education with high quality and safety. He added, “children are the fundamental of the country’s development thus, everyone should not neglect to support and enhance their education as it is a very vital factor. I strongly believe that the donation of a school building will motivate the young students to study harder as well as to encourage all the teachers to teach and share the knowledge more efficient to those young students for building their own bright future”.
Over the years, HKL had organized and joined many of CSR activities such as donation of school buildings, hospital buildings, patient beds to the hospitals, planted trees, cleaned the city, provided financial education, and donated other supplies to the students and community.
